A message from the Chairman: ITIC Global 2020

UPDATE: 29 June 2020

We have now posted all the requirements (do’s and don’ts) that will apply for the forthcoming ITIC Global conference in Madrid. This lists all the safety precautions that we will be taking to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the event for all our attendees.

Please click here to view the full Covid-19 Protocols for ITIC Global 2020 conference.

We will be constantly updating these requirements as things change over the coming months, so it’s important that you check regularly to make sure you know exactly what will be required.

Obviously if there are major changes that will effect everyone, we will notify you directly immediately.

Anyway, look forward to seeing you in Madrid.

Original Post: 9 June 2020

We live in strange times, and I know that many of you have will have been wondering what exactly is happening with this year’s ITIC Global conference in Madrid.

The first thing I’d like to do is to reassure you that the ITIC Global 2020 will go ahead in Madrid as planned.

Currently, Madrid, and Spain in general, is starting to open up again. Hotels, bars and restaurants are starting to reopen, albeit under strict social distancing rules, and with the rate of infection dropping rapidly towards zero, we’re all really hopeful that things will continue progressing towards some kind of normality over the next four months or so before the ITIC conference.

We (the ITIC team) have spent a huge amount of time over the last few months looking at all the possible options for the operation of the conference, and how to ensure that all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of delegates will be in place.

We have been in close contact with the conference hotel and have discussed the application of new government regulations that are being introduced because of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the need for social distancing. We will update everyone of any new or changing requirements that will affect the conference as they are given to us.

So, we’re all really looking forward to seeing you and all our friends from the International Travel and Healthcare community in Madrid, in October.

It’s an old adage, but we really are greater than the sum of our parts. As the Covid-19 pandemic impacts on every element of society, pooling knowledge, forging connections and collaborating are becoming the greatest tools we have.

All the best

Ian Cameron

ITIC Chairman
