Dr Joseph Lelo

Dr Joseph Lelo
Dr Joseph Lelo is the Medical Director at AMREF Flying Doctors. He is a practicing anaesthesiologist, intensivist and an experienced flight physician involved in execution and supervision of complex and demanding aeromedical transfers across the globe. He leads a team of thirty doctors and nurses involved in air ambulance service provision, life support training and medical third-party service administration. He is also an aviation medical examiner with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority with certification in pre-hospital care and is also an advanced life support instructor with the American Heart Association. He as wide-ranging interests in aviation medicine, healthcare economics and use of AI in healthcare.
Dr Lelo is a graduate of The University of Nairobi’s medical school and he holds a Master of Medicine degree in Anaesthesiology and an MBA from the University of East London.
An avid but struggling golfer and open water scuba diver, Joseph is married. He and his wife Margaret have two teenage children, a boy and a girl.

Shauna Vistad

Shauna Vistad
Shauna Vistad is the Senior Vice President for Medical Investigations and Audits at Daman. Her leadership role supports Daman’s goal of constantly enhancing the quality of medical care and services provided to clients and policyholders.
Shauna oversees investigations and audits relating to Daman’s medical claims and services, leading a team responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory policies. Her critical contribution to Daman’s national provision of quality healthcare involves leading cross-organisational collaboration, embedding proactive measures to prevent fraudulent claims.
She brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience to Daman with a decade of her work dedicated to healthcare fraud, waste, and claims abuse from both a payer and provider perspective. She has extensive healthcare fraud expertise and as a recognised industry figure, has spoken for organisations including the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA).
Shauna is an Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigator (AHFI), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the North Dakota State University (NDSU) and a master’s degree in Business.

Dr Fatih Mehmet Gul, MD

Dr Fatih Mehmet Gul, MD
Dr Fatih Mehmet Gul is the Vice President of UAE & Group Growth Office & Chief Executive Officer of Fakeeh University Hospital in Dubai, UAE. He is also Founder and Executive Director of CSR Middle East.
Dr Gul is responsible for leading one of the largest private hospitals in the emirates. He spearheaded the development of Fakeeh University Hospital in 2017, implementing market strategies to deliver on the hospital’s mission to provide medical excellence and champion outstanding research within the UAE. He has recently been listed as on one of the Forbes top 50 healthcare leaders in the MENA region.
A graduate of Harvard Business School and Cornell University in the US, he is a physician by training. During his career he has gained international experience through various assignments across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, making him well-versed in both regional and western cultures. He has combined his long-standing knowledge of the regional healthcare landscape with his leadership skills and clinical background to bring to life multiple projects across health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, and medical groups.

Claire McKinnon

Claire McKinnon
Claire has over 25 years’ experience in the assistance market gained from organisations such as Mondial Assistance and Allianz Partners. She joined Healix in 2017 and has used her experience to grow Healix’s extensive global insurance, IPMI, IGO, NGO and corporate client partnerships, working with a number of travel companies, airlines, financial institutions and affinity companies. Claire has played a key part in rolling out new Healix services and propositions for the travel risks management market such as Covid Travel Safe and Healix Sentinel Tracker.

Ms Salome Odhiambo

Ms Salome Odhiambo
Salome is the Lead Security Analyst for East and Southern Africa at International SOS, based out of the Dubai Regional Security centre in the UAE. She has worked for International SOS for over five years and was previously based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Salome has previously worked for the United Nations, the Kenyan High Commission, and Manchester City Football Club. She is a dual South African-Kenyan national with a strong interest in African issues, and holds two masters degrees in International Political Economy and Development Studies from universities in the UK and South Africa respectively.

Dr Ahmed Monir

Dr Ahmed Monir
Dr Ahmed Monir is an accomplished health and wellness expert, founder, and leader of the LGA Assistance Group (LGA Assistance, Qatar Assistance, KSA Assistance, and the soon to launch Africa Assistance, East & West Africa Assist, and Egypt Aid) which focuses on medical and travel assistance. He is also currently spearheading a project that will change the playing field for medical tourism. Throughout the past 20 years, Ahmed’s passion has been to inspire people in investing in their health and wellness.
Backed by his MA in Medicine from Cairo University, his medical experience, and travel enthusiasm, Ahmed is known for his advocacy to bridge the body and mind. Through the organisations he founded, he strives to share his vision with millions of people and travellers.
His visionary outlook has earned him opportunities to work on the global market with projects that were entrusted to his group, most recently in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. With his leadership, LGA Assistance Group created a ground-breaking tool called Healthcare Provider Auto-Selection System that redefines how we picture, do, and innovate cost-containment strategies. Whatever Ahmed puts his heart into, it flourishes and grows.
Ozan Alemdaroğlu

Dr Ozan Raimondo Perri

Dr Ozan Raimondo Perri
After graduation, he returned to Germany to begin his training in anesthesiology. In 2023, he joined Marm Assistance, where he is primarily responsible for medical escort missions, medical follow-ups, and cost containment. Since joining the organization, he has participated in over 100 intercontinental medical escort operations. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Dr. Perri has always dreamed of becoming a pilot. Embracing both of his passions – medicine and flying – he actively attends courses in aerospace medicine and is on track to obtain his Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) certification in 2025. He is a native speaker of both Turkish and German and is fluent in English. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys flying, discovering new destinations, and cooking delicious meals.

Robin Ali

Robin Ali
Robin Ali founded The Consilient Consultancy, an independent advisory services practice, in Dubai at the end of 2015. The business was redomiciled to Ireland in March 2020.
Consilient’s mission is to assist developing nations to design healthcare funding models that work for each economy and to advise on the technologies needed to support the system. Consilient has provided advice to three Middle East governments and has an increasing focus on sub-Saharan African markets.
In mid-2016 Robin stood down from a full-time role with Dubai Health Authority where over a period of three years he developed and implemented, on behalf of Dubai Government, an insurance regulatory framework in support of the 2013 Health Insurance Law of the Government of Dubai.
Prior to establishing Consilient and his work with DHA, Robin worked as a Senior Manager for Ernst & Young’s Middle East Insurance Advisory Services practice advising international and regional insurance companies, reinsurance companies and regional regulatory authorities.
Robin remains based in Dubai and is able to travel throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and SE Asia.
